OLED

Bei OLED leuchtet jeder Bildpunkt selbst, eine Hintergrundbeleuchtung entfällt. Das ergibt echtes Schwarz, sehr hohen Kontrast und große Farbräume.

Was ist OLED?

Bei einem OLED-Display (Organic Light Emitting Diode) leuchtet jeder Bildpunkt selbst. Anders als beim LCD gibt es keine Hintergrundbeleuchtung, die ständig durchscheint. Ein schwarzer Bildpunkt wird schlicht abgeschaltet.

Stärken

  • Echtes Schwarz und dadurch ein extrem hoher Kontrast.
  • Großer Farbraum, häufig nahezu vollständige DCI-P3-Abdeckung.
  • Sehr kurze Reaktionszeiten, was bei bewegten Inhalten sichtbar wird.
  • HDR-Wiedergabe mit deutlich mehr Zeichnung in dunklen Bildbereichen.

Worauf Sie achten sollten

  • OLED-Panels werden überwiegend glänzend ausgeliefert und spiegeln entsprechend.
  • Bei sehr langer Anzeige unveränderter Inhalte, etwa Symbolleisten, kann es über die Jahre zu Einbrenneffekten kommen. Aktuelle Geräte wirken dem mit Pixelverschiebung und Helligkeitsregelung entgegen.
  • Der Stromverbrauch hängt vom Bildinhalt ab: Helle Oberflächen kosten mehr Akkulaufzeit als dunkle.
